To think just six weeks before this picture was taken the box would have been totally ignored
and quite possibly be lost forever?

TWO YEARS ON FROM REFURBISHMENT
Ongoing improvements, including planting of flowers and general maintenance has ensured that Box 472 maintains it's new image.
The 'mini' museum within the box that includes unique pictures and a visitors book has proved to be extremely popular with both visitors and local residents alike. The visitors book includes entries from as far afield as the United States of America, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Canada, Italy, India, and Czechoslovakia.
Local tourist maps and Cairngorms National Park information brochures are also available to Box 472 visitors.
ELEGANT VISITOR TO AA BOX NO 472
Many thanks to Mr Steve Kew of Aboyne, owner of this magnificent motor car, for providing this picture.
The car is the archetypal Bentley “Blower”, a 2008 rebuilt Petersen Bentley Blower with a 4.5 litre supercharged engine. It is based on a 1936 Bentley Chassis but the engine is from a 1951 mark VI Bentley. Picture taken Sunday 9th October 2011.
Mr Kew describes the car as a "bit of a beast".

The box location was chosen over 60 years ago and higher numbers of vehicles now travel at far greater speeds along the A93 than were envisaged in the 1950's and 1960's.
*Great care should be taken when arriving
at or leaving the location*
